I began my training at 11 years old, but only for a short time. As I grew up, I always remembered the few basics and first katas( Pinon 1+2) that I had been shown. I found the Sho-Rin-Ryu Discipline School in 1978. I studied under Sensei Marchakos for just over a year, but unfortunately I had to stop due to moving out of state for work.
Again, I continued to practice what I had been taught when I could until I could find another school that taught the real traditional style I wanted. Finally, in 2024, I found Sensei Gagne at his Dojo in Rhode Island. I was able to start my advanced training in the style I fell in love with as a child and that has never let me down.
My goal is to share this style and my passion for it with others.
